Sept. 19, 2007 -- We would like to address an editorial error in our most recent print edition. On page 49 of our November issue (with Michellie Jones on cover) we ran our 'Beijing Countdown' blurb. There seems to be some misunderstanding among our readers from the information provided. Americans Andy Potts and Julie Swail did not qualify themselves for the 2008 Olympic Games by virtue of their wins at the Pan American Games. Rather, they secured a spot for the United States. USA Triathlon still has complete say over the team, and spots will be decided at the Beijing World Cup (Laura Bennett and Jarrod Shoemaker qualified), the Honolulu Triathlon and the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines. You will find a correction in our December issue as well.
