Sport Beans back as NTTC title sponsor
INVISTA Coolmax fabric signs as sub-title sponsor

Feb. 16, 2007 – Press release: The National Triathlon Training Camp (NTTC), which returned to the sport in 2006 after an 11-year hiatus, announced that its Title Sponsor, Sport Beans jelly beans from the Jelly Belly Candy Company, will be back for a second season in 2007. Racing under the banner, Team Sport Beans/NTTC, the team’s pro/elite members racked up 10 wins and 25 top-10 finishes last season. “We’re delighted that Sport Beans™ is our Title Sponsor,” stated NTTC Director Mark Wendley. “Jelly Belly has created such a great product in Sport Beans™, and we’re very happy they’ve chosen us to help spread the good word to the triathlon community.”

Signing a two year agreement (for 2007 and 2008) as Sub-Title Sponsor is INVISTA Coolmax fabric. Coolmax®, a revolutionary fabric that wicks away perspiration quickly and keeps the body cooler than traditional fabrics, was developed by the Dupont Company in the late 80s. Coolmax®, now owned and marketed by INVISTA, was the NTTC Title Sponsor from 1987 to 1989. Under the Coolmax® sponsorship of those years, NTTC’s racing team became the dominant force on the circuit, winning over 190 races, including Coke Grand Prix and Tri-America Series Titles, as well as Ironman races and USAT and USTS National Championships. NTTC’s stated goal for the coming years is to, again, field one of the very best triathlon teams in the world.

Helping to achieve that goal will be returning Supporting Sponsors, TYR Sport, Inc. and Rudy Project USA. TYR (www.tyr.com) will again serve as the team’s “Official Swimwear and Apparel Sponsor.” 2007 will mark the 10th year that TYR has been partnered with NTTC in that role, 1987 through 1994 and 2006 being the previous years. Meanwhile, Rudy Project USA (www.rudyprojectusa.com) is back as the team’s “Official Helmet and Eyewear Sponsor.” Joining the NTTC sponsor team for the first time is Active Trade Promotions (www.activetradepromotions.com), a company run by former NTTC pro Marcel Hoksbergen.

“We’re excited about our sponsor team and the coming season,” stated Wendley. “We’re expanding the Pro/Elite Team from six to eight athletes and hope to really swell the ranks of our Club Team in 2007. Our online training programs are gaining in popularity and our clinics will, once again, be popping up in various locations around the country. We’re definitely on track in this second season of our comeback!” For more information, please visit the NTTC web site at www.NTTCracing.com.
