Triathlete submission guidelines

Submitting an article: We prefer to receive submissions via e-mail (feedback@triathletemag.com). Please save your article as plain text (.txt), in rich text format (.rtf) or as a Word document (.doc or .docx). Please send your article as an e-mail attachment and copy and paste the text of the article into the e-mail window. Do not compress the file(s) unless requested to do so. E-mail to your submission directly to your assigning editor. With any submissions, please include a 30-word bio, your name and your contact information including mailing address, phone number and e-mail address. Please note the below style guidelines. Any submissions not following our requested format will not be considered for publication. Please allow a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks before a decision is made on the viability of including your submission in a future issue of Triathlete.

Art: If you are submitting photographs, illustrations etc. with your article, please check with the editor for specific guidelines. We prefer digital images as long as they are high resolution (at least 300 dpi).

Length: We appreciate the time and thought that goes into your submission. As such, it is important that you adhere to the word count guidelines provided by the editor. For example, if you are assigned a word count of 1200, please try to write between 1100 and 1300 words. If you think that the assigned word count is inappropriate for the topic you will be addressing, please notify the editor and arrangements can be made to give your article appropriate space within the magazine.

Terms of use: Once your article has been accepted for publication by Triathlete magazine, Triathlete will own the worldwide copyright to the article and may reproduce the piece in any media format for one calendar year from the date of first publication. After one calendar year from the date of first publication, copyright automatically reverts back to the author. By submitting your article to Triathlete magazine, you agree to be bound by these conditions should your article be accepted for publication.
